It’s a wrap! And with that, the year is halfway over! Whew! That was fast! I had a busy month – I transitioned into my new position at work, had a fun weekend visit with a dear friend, spent a crazy Saturday shopping with another friend, enjoyed a girls night out with dinner and a movie, and spent lots of quality time with the hubs in the pool! (when it wasn’t raining..seriously y’all…so much rain!) Here’s a quick recap of my favorite outfits from the month, and my usual tips and shopping ideas.

White Top and Sparkly Jeans
I found this beautiful top at Stein Mart and knew I just had to have it! I had a very similar top way back in the day, and always loved it. I styled the top with my new sparkly girlfriend crops from Chico’s. The sparkle adds a dressier touch to the crops, don’t you think? Tip: Wearing white in the hotter months gives off an instantly cool vibe, not to mention that white doesn’t absorb the heat, and actually reflects it away from your body! Black Top and Denim Crops
And now, on the complete opposite of the spectrum, is this black top that has been in my closet for years, I love the sleeve length and eyelet lace trim. I wore it with comfy denim crops I got from Stitch Fix awhile back. Tip: If you’re going to wear black, make sure it has breezy details to keep you cool!
Striped Maxi Skirt and White Denim Jacket
I found this brightly striped maxi skirt on the sale rack at Chico’s, and paired it with the matching tank, and my denim jacket. I got tons of compliments on this outfit, and I was comfortable all day! Win! Tip: Separates like maxi skirts will give you more wardrobe and styling options! Look for pieces you can mix and match with other things in your closet for maximum use.
Pink Striped Top and White Jeans
Another Chico’s top, this one is from last year, styled with white ankle pants and the cute pink flats I got in my May Stitch Fix box. Tip: Add a pop of bright color to your basic white jeans…just for the fun of it! And by the way, don’t worry about the whole vertical/horizontal stripe thing…wear what looks good on you!
Palm Tree Top and Olive Jeans
I’ve had this fun sequined tee from Chico’s in my closet for awhile now, and had a hard time figuring out what to style it with, and then it dawned on me that olive is a perfect neutral. These are from NYDJ and are super comfy! Tip: Olive is a great neutral for summer and fall! It plays well with so many colors!
Nautical Blue Cardigan and Patterned Pants
Both the cardigan and lace up white top are TJ Maxx finds. I paired them with these patterned ankle pants I received in my March Stitch Fix. Tip: If you’re a little timid about wearing a patterned pant, add a longer length cardigan for confidence.
Hot Pink Jacket and Floral Top
Finally, my favorite! I first spied this brightly hued fuschia jacket on Instagram at @shopwillowtree. I contacted them and they promptly shipped it to me. I styled it here with the black floral top from this Stitch Fix, along with my favorite white Kendra Scott jewelry. Tip: Wearing a brightly hued top or jacket instantly distracts the eye upwards and helps to balance out a pear shaped figure.
What’s in the works for July? Well…I’m working on a new blog post featuring Amazon Prime Wardrobe, hopefully in time for Prime Day. And I’ll be taking a quick vacay to Colorado to visit our son and his beautiful family, so I’ll probably do a little vacation travel post. And then we’ll blink and it’ll be August! And a heads up – our Stylish Monday team will be styling our maxi dresses for you the first Monday in August! I can’t wait to see how my creative friends show off their maxis!
