What are your spring wardrobe essentials – you know – the things you reach for (or shop for) year after year? Adding just a few basic pieces into your spring wardrobe will elevate your style and give you a wide range of looks you can play around with, mixing and matching your way to fashion icon status. No, really! Social media is full of influencers these days blabbing on and on about “dressing like a rich girl”, but I’d rather dress like the girl whose outfit looks polished and pulled together. Read on to see my list of key pieces to add to your closet this spring!
You probably already have the perfect building blocks to a capsule wardrobe in your closet, and in this post, I’m going to show you how to pull all of those pieces together! As a result, you’ll save money, really use those pieces in a thoughtful way, and create an intentional wardrobe of outfits that you can mix and match each day. Getting dressed doesn’t have to be hard! Let’s get into it!
Let’s talk about the best blazers for pear shapes. Blazers are BIG this season, and I am thrilled! However, there are definitely a few styles I’ve learned to avoid when dealing with my pear shape body. Sometimes my narrow shoulders/wide hip ratio cramps my style, especially when it comes to cute jackets or blazers. As a result of this, I’ve learned a few style tricks that I’m happy to share with you today. I’m also excited to introduce a new monthly feature from my friends Nina, Suzanne, and Julie and the Coast to Coast Style Collective. Let’s dig in and have fun!
Fall Fashion from Wal-Mart is on point this year y’all! I popped into my local store and was absolutely amazed at what I saw hanging on the racks. And even though I did have to plow my way through quite a bit of leftover summer pieces (bye-bye summer your time is up) I managed to find some seriously cute stuff! I usually order from their website, so I kind of enjoyed the instant gratification of finding something in a treasure hunt! Check out what I found!

The top is from Wal-Mart’s Free Assembly line, which is one of my favorites. The shirt fabric is a heavier knit, perfect for fall temps, and the puff sleeves are lightweight cotton. It’s almost sold out online, so I’m linking a few other options for you. The kick flare jeans are from Lee and feature a high rise and raw hem. They have nice stretch too! If you’re looking for an affordable denim choice that is also on trend, this pair of jeans is for you!
I’m styling this outfit with the super cute Time and Tru Faux Leather crossbody that features a fun braided strip detail. It’s a roomy little bag and the perfect color for our fall outfits!
I saw this dress on my lunch break one day and just couldn’t get it off my mind. It’s just so pretty! I love the length and the trendy smocked bodice. It comes in two different patterns, and I honestly had a hard time making up my mind! I could easily style the dress with a denim jacket and a pair of booties as the weather cools. And doesn’t it look great with the little bag? I’m styling it here with my braided sandals from Amazon, but I think it could easily be dressed down with sneakers, just for fun.
Have you started thinking about all things Fall Fashion, like me? If so, what are you searching for? Let me know in the comments what you’d like me to feature. I’m still working on a trending denim post, so stay tuned for that one. You might want to check out THIS BLOG POST about styling denim shirts in the meantime. I’m also in the middle of creating a travel capsule wardrobe for an upcoming trip to Italy, so I’m sure I’ll be blogging all about in the near future. Thanks so much for stopping by! Stay cool, and hang in there! Fall’s right around the corner…
