July Stitch Fix Reveal

Happy July! We are definitely in the midst of the dog days of summer down here in the south y’all. It’s rainy, and sticky, and hot and humid and just downright hot! It’s usually a challenge to dress for work in the summer months, because it’s blazing hot outside, but freezing cold in the air conditioning. Believe it or not, I actually run a little personal heater at my desk, just to keep from freezing. I’m not complaining though, can you imagine life without AC in the south? No thanks! I had a few random requests for my Stitch Fix Stylist — a maxi dress, a pair of shoes and a  colored denim jacket to fight off that AC. Here’s what I received…

Stitch Fix Refresher Course!

Here’s a brief refresher course on Stitch Fix and how it works: Stitch Fix is an online styling service that delivers a truly personalized shopping experience, just for you. Fill out your Style Profile and a personal stylist will hand pick pieces to fit your tastes, needs and budget—and mail them directly to your door. Each box contains five items of clothing, shoes and accessories for you to try on at home. Keep what you love, send the rest back in a prepaid USPS envelope. Shipping and returns are free—even for ex-changes! No subscription required. As a bonus, you get a 25% discount if you keep all five pieces. Cha-ching!

An added bonus to me is that you can try on everything in the comfort of your own home, playing with the items, and styling them with things you already own. I don’t know about you, but I hate trying things on in stores! In fact, I rarely do! It just makes me break out in a sweat y’all! It’s so much easier to try on at home!

July Stylist Note
I love the personal touch of the stylist’s note! I always look forward to reading them…

MAX STUDIO Erinella Smock Detail Top

Stitch Fix Red Floral Top

I love the pretty red color of this poncho style top. It’s very cool and breezy. However, it just doesn’t quite work for my pear shape. Banded bottoms are a big old no-no for me! I have a similar top that I shared in this blog post.  Here’s a few more buying suggestions for you:

COLLECTIVE CONCEPTS Rebell Maxi Dress

Stitch Fix Maxi Dress

This is a fantastic dress y’all! Breezy and beautiful…however, this one didn’t work for me either, as it had very little stretch, and this sister needs her some stretch. It would be perfect for a date night. The style card suggested styling it with a denim jacket, which I would probably try. Here it is styled with the yellow jacket shown below.

Yellow Jacket & Blue Dress

If you like the look and style of this dress, here’s a few shopping suggestions for you

WARP + WEFT Ingrid Colored Denim Jacket

This is such a cute sunny yellow denim jacket, and just what I was looking for. It’s a great weight for the high powered AC of the movie theatre or my chilly office! I think it’ll look great with blue jeans, or even over a dress, like she suggested in my style card. I can’t wait to wear it!

Katherine also sent along these Layla Open Toe Ankle Strap Wedge shoes from DV8, in a cute coral color, in a very walkable wedge. Super comfy. The ankle strap is a nice detail too. Coral is such a hot color this year! It’s everywhere! I received a cute coral pair of jeans in my April Stitch Fix. I’ve been amazed at how much they go with!

She also tried a pair of white jeans from Just Black, but y’all, these skinnies were far too skinny on me! White jeans are always a challenge for me. Always! And I’m constantly on a search for a pair that doesn’t make me look like the Sta Puft marshmallow man! I’m just going to stick with my Chico’s jeans for now…seems that they fit me best.

What did you think of this month’s box? Leave a comment and let me know! And, if you haven’t tried Stitch Fix yet, I’d love for you to give it a try! I look forward to receiving my box every month! Thanks for popping in!

  1. Hi Andy,

Everything always looks great on you but I totally understand when you’re not comfortable in something it’s not worth keeping! My favorite was the maxi dress!
