How We Wear Summer Whites!

Hi y’all! Welcome to summer! The season of fun in the sun, pool parties, vacays, margaritas and mojitos! I’ll admit, I’m not the biggest fan of white jeans, though sometimes an outfit just calls for them. The trick for me is all about balance, and finding a way to disguise my pear shape. Long over lean is one of my tried and true strategies for dealing with a pear shape, which is one of the many reasons I love kimonos and long cardigans. Learn more about dealing with a pear shape here. I shared a couple of ideas for white pants in this blog post. As I mentioned, white pants or jeans are a way to add instant refreshment to an outfit.

My first outfit is a pair of white jeans and my favorite graphic tee from Ruby’s Rubbish – available here – (I’ve had it for years) styled with a colorful kimono. Kimonos are such a fun way to add a burst of happy color to a summer outfit!  Purchase similar styles here:

The second outfit is a remix of one I styled last summer. The white lace skirt gets a fun refresh with a denim jacket and leopard print belt. It’s a fun way to feel ‘dressed up’ without feeling stuffy. We’ll just call it  informally formal! Whatcha think? Purchase similar styles here:

Another outfit featuring a kimono and bright yellow top (purchased last year). I absolutely love, love, love kimonos in the summertime y’all! You can wear them with dresses, shorts, or even as a swimsuit cover-up. The happy colors add a fun pop to the neutral white pants. Purchase similar styles here:

And now for a few fun extras. White and silver are instantly cooling colors – white shoes, handbags and jewelry add a light touch to any outfit. I’m loving this summer’s straw handbags!
