Tie Dye is having a moment y’all. Like a big one. The current craze for tie-dye started this spring when we were all locked up and feeling loungey and lazy. Some of us were being crafty and making our own tie-dye creations, while the rest of us were scooping up everything tie-dye we could find on Amazon – from loungewear to kimonos – you name it, the groovy print is the queen of everything this year! This swirly, colorful trend is continuing on into the fall, so my Stylish Monday sisters and I decided to feature it in this month’s link-up party. Read on to see how we styled our tie-dye for fall.

My Tie-Dye Looks
Most of the looks featured in this post are from boutiques and small shops. I think it’s so important right now to shop and support our small businesses, don’t you? They are absolutely essential! Scroll down for a few shopping links where you can find similar tie-dye looks.
Tie-Dye Dress/Tunic
I styled this adorable tie-dye dress from Umgee as a dress with my favorite Converse leopard print sneakers. Then, I thought it would be fun to style the dress as a tunic with jeans. I played with it a bit, and when I knotted it on the side it became a tunic! I love to play with my clothes, don’t you? You just never know the options available in your closet! The orange and blue shades are perfect for fall, and will work nicely with other pieces in my fall wardrobe.
Olive Green/Gray Tie-Dye Kimono
I’ve worn this kimono several times and showed it off on Instagram. Olive is one of those quintessential fall colors for me now. It’s a perfect neutral and plays well with so many colors in the wardrobe. In the first look, I styled it with a graphic tee from Tee for the Soul – my go-to shop for graphic tees. In the second, I styled it with a simple olive green slub tee from Chico’s and white jeans (yes, you CAN wear white after Labor Day, just don’t tell Mama!).
Brightly Colored Tie-Dye Kimono

This beautiful kimono features shades of dark pink, teal, and mustard yellow. Though you wouldn’t think that color palette would work for fall, it does in the tie-dyed world! I styled it with my Denizen ankle jeans along with another cute graphic tee from Tee for the Soul, so I’m sure it will transition nicely into the fall. I am absolutely in love with it, and can’t wait to style it with other tops in my closet – I have tons of graphic tees in a variety of shades that will really play well with this darling duster length kimono. It’s that longer length I love that always works well with my pear shape. Read more about styling a pear shape HERE and HERE.
Stylish Monday Looks
And now I’d love to share the looks my Stylish Monday sisters are styling this month. We welcome a new sister to the group this month! Woot! Since I’ve been a fan of Shelbee’s blog for quite a while now, and am absolutely thrilled that she’s joined our collaboration! Be sure to click through to her blog – I know you’ll be as big a fan as I am.
Shelbee and Nancy
Shelbee – “I found this tie dye kimono at Torrid a few years ago and I definitely do not give it enough air time. I love the tie dye pattern on it and the fun fringe details and it is the perfect layering piece for this time of year. I have worn it with jeans and shorts as well, but I think I prefer it with a cute little black dress and sandals.” “I had to search real deep for something tie dye and I found this Primark summer dress that I don’t even own anymore. I guess tie dye is the same as kimonos over here in the Netherlands. Just not that popular. Don’t know why not if you see all my lovely Stylish Monday friends in their beautiful items!”

Nicole and Julie
Nicole added a pop of color to her outfit with the brightly hued tie-dye printed scarf. It’s a lovely contrast to the business-like outfit, don’t you think? “I have and always will be a huge fan of the tie dye trend! This might be my third blog post on the trend. My tie-dye maxi dress (new from Amazon) is super easy to style for every season. I’ve paired it with my Half Tee for better coverage so that it can be worn to work. Additionally, I can add a denim jacket for some warmth in the fall. The tie dye dress can easily be worn over a long sleeve tee and some booties in the winter! Did I mention this maxi has pockets and is super soft?! If all over tie dye isn’t your thing, think about just a touch of tie dye in a top or more subtle colors like bleach tie dye.”

Ada and Emma
“Not all tie-dye is made the same. Those bright super neon tie-dyes are not for me. But give me a cozy, light as air white tee dipped in baby blue and baby pink and we are talking!! It looks like a gorgeous skyline. Fall temperatures have definitely arrived in Michigan so I wore mine with a Faux Leather Black Moto Jacket. Perfect yin+yang between the softness of the girly tee and the rocker edginess of the jacket. Both pieces are by Hollister and they are current!” “I bought this skirt years ago, and while I love it, I find it difficult to style so have only worn it a few times. This theme gave me the impetus to dig it out and give it another chance. I’ve paired it with a sweater with a cute pearl-embellished collar that I bought in a charity shop.”

Oh girl! We are thrilled you’ve joined us! Yeah…I’m a little obsessed with the long kimono/duster. I love the longer length that covers my multitude of sins! Thanks!
Great post. Love how you introduced the various hostesses. You have a lot of tie-dye pieces! The tunic dress is my favorite, but all the looks are great. Love the colors and girly cut of the tunic.
You girls look fabulous!! I am so loving the tie dye trend right now!

Isn’t it fun? I think it’s just the funky style we need right now.
I’ve seen the explosion of tie-die this year, and I’ve been very impressed that it looks nothing like the splotchy tshirts I made years ago in girl scout camp! I haven’t purchased any, but your post has me considering the possibilities!
Go for it! It’s such a fun look. Thanks for stopping by!
Fun. Takes me back to my teenage years. 😊
This is such a fun theme! I love all of your tie-dye pieces but my favorite is the first dress! So cute and versatile!

Hi Andy!
I love your tie dye pieces and how you styled the dress into a shirt! And I need those converse in leopard, so darn cute! I love the long kimono too! I bought a shirt dress in tie die and love it as well. What goes around comes around, right?! You look great!

Thanks Jess! This was such a fun collaboration. Sure hope you can join up with us again soon!
At 69 I’ve been through the tie dye craze a few times! I originally loved the bright colors but now I prefer the more subtle tones. Your olive green shirt with the grey tie dye kimono is a stunner!
