January Stitch Fix Reveal | Comfortable Style

Hello all, and welcome to my first Stitch Fix Reveal of 2020. Our winter weather here tends to be colder and rainy, so I asked my stylist for comfy styles I could relax in. I mean, when the weather is dreary all I want to do is sit by the fire, read books and drink tea! Some days you just want to be comfortable! Read on to see what Katherin sent me, and for a few winter style tips.

I’ve always loved the personal touch offered by Stitch Fix. You really do get a personal stylist – a living breathing human being who reads your note, takes your requests into consideration and who writes you a thoughtful note with each Fix. They also offer styling ideas for the items they send you. I’ve always saved my style cards as a reference, and often refer to them for fresh ideas when I’m in a rut.

My stylist note for this month, complete with ideas and tips! Love this!

JACK BY BB DAKOTA – Frilisa Brushed Cowl Neck Knit Top

CK BY BB DAKOTA - Frilisa Brushed Cowl Neck Knit Top

I loved the soft brushed feel of this comfy cowl neck. It’s just the right weight and length for me. I tried it on with the Liverpool skinnies I got in my September Fix last year, and the warm booties I received in my November Fix. As much as I loved this top, I didn’t keep it, since I have several tops that are very similar. TIP: Don’t be afraid of horizontal stripes! This is an urban style myth. I’m very pear shaped, and find that stripes can actually work for me! Shop similar tops here:

MARKET & SPRUCE – Paedia Tulip Hem Cowl Neck Knit Top

MARKET & SPRUCE - Paedia Tulip Hem Cowl Neck Knit Top

I love the pretty tulip hem of this top! And cure the happy music, it has pockets! Whee! The fabric is a little heavier than a tee shirt, and is a lovely jersey knit. I styled it with those Liverpool skinnies and the Keds she sent in this fix. I thought the Keds were super cute, but not quite my style; they remind me too much of bowling shoes! I kept the top, but returned the sneakers. That top will be on repeat from now through spring! I love it! I think it will look cute with white jeans too. TIP: Tulip hem tops can be tricky if you’re pear shaped like me. Try on the top and make sure it doesn’t flare out too far, or hit at the wrong place at your hips.

525 AMERICA – Sallie Intarsia Pullover

525 America Sallie Intarsia Pullover

This made my whole day! I mean, how cute is this sweater ya’ll? It really doesn’t need anything but some jeans and I’m set. I think it will be perfect for a casual Valentine’s Day dinner, or a night at the movies. I styled it with a new pair of distressed Judy Blue jeans I got from Tee for the Soul, and Blondo wedge sneakers in a camo print, (now on sale!) just for fun. TIP: Don’t overdo jewelry when styling a graphic sweater like this one. Let the design do the talking! Cute earrings are really all you need!
Here’s a few similar styles to shop:

I didn’t style the Liverpool leggings. I’m a huge Liverpool fan, and have received lots of great pants from that line, but I just wasn’t a fan of the fabric pattern, though they felt wonderful! Maybe if they had been a solid color, or something a bit more subtle? Not sure…anyway, they felt frumpy to me, and I just couldn’t figure out how to make them work. Back they go! Here’s the style card for them:

By the way, in case you were wondering. I don’t always keep everything I get in my fixes. Just like when you try things on in a store, everything doesn’t fit or work all the time! The difference is, with Stitch Fix, you can try them on in the comfort of your own home, and with pieces you may already own. It’s just so much easier! And just driving up and seeing that box on my front porch once a month makes me happy! Here’s a few of my previous Stitch Fix reviews. Check them out!
