Early Spring Style for 2022

Early spring style is always a challenge because that winter to spring transition can be a tough one! Cold in the morning, warm in the afternoon, you never really know what to expect around here! But those warmer afternoon temps have me thinking (hard) about spring style, so I’ve been poking around the interwebs, browsing fashion magazine sites, shopping sites, and just about everything in between to get my finger on the pulse of what will be IN for spring, 2022. I’m going to share two trends that I’m particularly excited about: brights and nautical styles.

No secret that I am NOT afraid of bright colors in my wardrobe. So I’m really excited to share these first looks with you. And believe it or not, all three pieces are from Wally World! All three pieces are from their Scoop line-up of styles. I love the coral-orange shade mixed with bright pink, it’s a spring-like take on the red and pink trend that was everywhere earlier this year.

Early Spring Style Look Number One – The Bright Jacket & Top

pink floral peplum top
The top has a peplum, which was a bit of a challenge for my pear shape. It’s not a style I typically wear, but the breezy fabric has a nice flow to it, so it works for me. I tied the little self-fabric tie, but I may do away with the tie altogether…it kind of got on my nerves, and I kept fiddling with it. There are a couple of different varieties of styles using that same fabric, including a dress, that I’ve linked for you below.

I styled the beautiful top with this brightly-hued jacket. Again with that pink and coral-orange! Talk about a color pop! If styling it with the floral top seems like too much, it can easily be worn with a simple white tee or even a graphic tee. It’s just fun. And you know what they say…girls just wanna have fun!

I styled both pieces with trouser jeans, also from Scoop. They have nice stretch and are a nice length. I’ve always had a thing for trouser jeans and was absolutely tickled to find these! They have a higher waist too, which I’m really into right now. The gentle flare looks great with my pointed-toe booties. Try styling your trouser jeans with a pointed toe shoe or boot to lengthen your silhouette – legs for days y’all!

Early Spring Style Look Number Two – My Take on Nautical Style

Early Spring Style - Nautical Striped Tee

I then styled the trouser jeans with a blue and white striped top I’ve had for years. A tee like this one is a classic and never goes out of style. I threw a gray blazer over the tee, but I’m thinking a blue jacket or sweater and white canvas Converse style sneakers would look super cute too. Might have to try that over on my Instagram one day!
