My five tips to help you master the summer to fall transition in style will help you get the fall party started! Not gonna lie…this is my favorite wardrobe transition to make, because even though the weather is boiling hot, the calendar is tempting us with thoughts of fall and pumpkins and falling leaves, and yes, praise the Lord, cooler temperatures! And with that comes the necessity to start thinking about making those easy fashion swaps as we segue into fall. Read on for a few of my tips and ideas for how you can make that transition as stylishly as possible!

Five Tips to Master the Summer to Fall Transition

- Yes, you CAN wear white jeans as you move into fall. Crisp white looks fantastic styled with traditional fall colors and jewel tones.
- Swapping out shoes and accessories will instantly change the look of your outfit. Tortoiseshell, leopard print, snake print, camo and fall florals come to mind.
- Throw on a jacket or cardigan over a summer tee to change up the outfit and give it a polished autumn vibe.
- Don’t forget your nails! Start wearing a darker polish on your fingertips for an instant autumn makeover.
- Take a look at your skin, and see if you need to do a little maintenance to ease the sun damage from too many poolside parties out in the sun from the summer. Adjust your makeup too, by changing from those summer pinks and corals to more neutral fall tones.
White Jeans | Yellow Tee Outfit Ideas

As I said, white jeans will carry you through the fall if you help them out a bit. I styled the white Kut From the Kloth denim jeans with a simple yellow slub tee from Old Navy and added my white sandals and white jewelry for a summery look.
For the fall look, I swapped the white sandals for my beloved Converse sneakers in a cute leopard print, then threw on the leopard jacket and a rust colored tassel necklace to complete the look. This is such a fun way to make that summer to fall transition in style!
Denim Boot Cut Jeans | Polka Dot Tank Outfit Ideas

Here’s another fun summer to all transition idea to add to your style book. I found this adorable polka dot tank at Zulily this summer, and thought it would be fun to style for summer and fall. In the first look I’ve simply styled it with a pair of wedge sandals.
Then, I tried adding the teal colored longer length cardigan I just purchased from Sam’s Club (yes Sam’s Club, they’ve got some cute stuff!) and swapped the sandals out with a pair of booties. As you know, bootcut jeans are my favorite style for my pear shape.
Lastly, I tried the polka dot top with the leopard blazer, and even though it sounds crazy, I think it works. I love to pattern mix, and am always challenging myself to try new ‘recipes’ of pattern mixing! A floral tank would be a fun style to try with this look too.
Denim Boot Cut Jeans | Graphic Tee Outfit Ideas

You knew I’d be styling a graphic tee in this post, didn’t you? I mean…they’re kind of my go-to these days. I’ve had this adorable foiled sunflower tee for several years now, so I thought it would be fun to mix it up for the summer to fall transition. First, I just threw on the tee with the bootcuts and added a fun pair of wedge sandals.
Then in the second look, I threw on my favorite sheer leopard print kimono from Tee for the Soul; I like the contrast of the leopard with the foiled sunflower on the tee. If you follow me on Instagram, you’ve seen this kimono before!
Finally, the last look features the leopard print blazer over the tee and bootcuts, and I added the brown booties to make the look more ‘fallish’ feeling. Not much jewelry was needed, so I just accessorized with a pair of tortoiseshell earrings and a cute belt.
