Cozy Chic | Stylish Monday Link-Up

Happy January 2020! I’m so pumped for the New Year, aren’t you? What I’m not pumped for is cold weather. There’s a reason I live down south. I don’t do cold. I don’t mind the occasional cold front, as long as I have a fire and a bowl of soup to warm up by, but girls, I just don’t think I could make it in colder parts of the world like some of my Stylish Monday sisters do! And true confession, I’m not the biggest fan of coats. They’re bulky, difficult to drive in, you have to find a place to hang them and they tend to make me look like a plump polar bear! That’s why I was thrilled that my Stylish Monday sisters and I chose “Cozy Chic” as this month’s link-up theme. Because I need all the winter style inspiration I can get! Let’s see what the girls are styling this month!

My Cozy Style

The Plaid Coat

My first look features this lightweight plaid coat. I purchased this a few years ago, and think it’s been a wise investment. The swing coat style is perfect for my pear shape, and the colors go with just about everything in my closet. The lighter weight works down south too!

A few tips when you’re shopping for coats:

The Cozy Vest

Love this fuzzy, fleecy, snuggly vest! It has pockets!

Vests are the perfect topper for our southern climate. I even have a few that I can wear to the office. They keep me warm, but I don’t feel like I’m suffocating. They’re fun to accessorize too. I styled a beautiful silver vest in last month’s “Holiday Style” link up. The fleecy, leopard print vest I’m wearing here features my favorite animal print and a cozy sherpa lining. I love this thing! There are so many variations of this look, you should be able to find one that’s perfect for you. Mine has pockets! Win! Here are a few shopping suggestions:

Add a pop of personality to a simple vest by adding a warm blanket scarf!

Like I mentioned, vests are so easy to accessorize. Here I’ve styled a simple black vest I got a few years ago from Stitch Fix with a soft blanket scarf, black turtleneck, jeans and over the knee boots. The longer length boots add an extra level of warmth too. This is a super comfy look, and easy to adapt if the weather warms. Just yank off the scarf and you’re good to go!

The Long Cardigan Sweater

Pink and gray are such a lovely color combination.

I wear longer cardigans to the office all the time. They cover a multitude of sins! The longer length works really well  in the warmer winters we have here, and I usually wear these as an option to a heavy coat. They’re not as bulky and are easy to layer and change up looks. This pretty gray number is from Chico’s, and I love the soft pink accents in the leopard pattern, so I styled it with a pink tee. I could have easily worn a gray turtleneck or top, or even winter white. It’s a versatile sweater! Shop the entire look here:

I showed you this lovely leopard print cardigan in my last Stitch Fix Reveal. Leopard is a neutral, so I’m sure I’ll be wearing it quite a bit this winter! Be sure to keep up with me on Instagram. You never know when it might turn up!
