Cozy Chic | Stylish Monday Link-Up

Happy January 2020! I’m so pumped for the New Year, aren’t you? What I’m not pumped for is cold weather. There’s a reason I live down south. I don’t do cold. I don’t mind the occasional cold front, as long as I have a fire and a bowl of soup to warm up by, but girls, I just don’t think I could make it in colder parts of the world like some of my Stylish Monday sisters do! And true confession, I’m not the biggest fan of coats. They’re bulky, difficult to drive in, you have to find a place to hang them and they tend to make me look like a plump polar bear! That’s why I was thrilled that my Stylish Monday sisters and I chose “Cozy Chic” as this month’s link-up theme. Because I need all the winter style inspiration I can get! Let’s see what the girls are styling this month!

2019 Style Recap

2019 Style Recap

Goodbye 2019 – Hello 2020! It’s the 20’s y’all! Who remembers Y2K, when we all thought our computers would crash, planes would fall from the sky and pandemonium would reign supreme? And here we are, using our phones as computers, our watches to count our steps and stay fit, and this thing called social media to keep up with friends and family, share funny memes and when you’re a blogger – share outfits and style tips! Recap! What I Wore in 2018

Recap! What I Wore in 2018

I love the first few days of January. The year is still so new, and the past year is still so present, which makes it a good time for reflection, as well as looking forward to new things. So I’m sitting here on this gloomy day, drinking my hot cup of coffee and reflecting on the past year. It’s been cold and rainy and downright dreary, but the fire is cozy and warm. As I reflect back, I’m so thankful for the little gifts that life brought me this year – my sweet family; our beautiful growing grandchildren; fun trips and vacations, the joys of my challenging job; fantastic friendships, and you – the sweet folks who pop onto my blog and social media offering words of encouragement and support. I appreciate you more than you can ever know! It’s been fun sharing my outfits, my Stitch Fix Reveals, and my sometimes crazy ramblings on about life. I thought I’d share a few highlights of the year, and also what to expect from my blog as we go into 2019… Continue reading “Recap! What I Wore in 2018”

Holiday Fashion Capsule Wardrobe

Holiday Fashion Capsule Wardrobe

Okay. Who remembers holiday fashions in the 90’s? The beautiful (ugly) Christmas sweaters…The heavily embroidered jumpers… The plaid shirts tucked into hideously pleated khaki pants…Oh My! I distinctly remember making Christmas shirts for the whole family out of pre-printed Christmas fabric that I lovingly hand painted  and embellished with fabric paint and press on jewels. I’m pretty sure most of the designs were poinsettia, santa and teddy-bear related. I’m surprised my kids still don’t hold a grudge against me for them! And we wore them in public! On purpose! Well times have changed girls. You can still get your Holiday on, but in a less dated, and much cuter way. Read on for how I mixed and matched several basic pieces from my closet added different accessories, and turned them into fun holiday fashions… Continue reading “Holiday Fashion Capsule Wardrobe”
