Stylish Monday – How We Do Spring in Style!

How We Style Spring

Hi everybody! It’s time for another fabulous Link-Up showcasing my fabulous blogging friends! Spring gives us a fresh start doesn’t it? We can lighten our wardrobe, pull out fun colors to wear, and start showing our toes in cute sandals again! Each season brings a few changes, as styles and fashion trends change, and sometimes it can be a bit overwhelming. I’ve noticed quite a few trends for this Spring including strappy sandals, snake and animal print, neon colors, bright florals, bootcut jeans, and this year’s Pantone color – Coral. Bootcuts are Back Baby!

Old Navy Bootcut jeans

This news could not make my heart any happier! Bootcut jeans are a pear shaped girl’s dream come true. They’re figure flattering, and the perfect silhouette to showcase our best features. I discovered these curvy fit bootcuts at Old Navy and am in love with them. They wear well, don’t stretch out and are super comfortable. They’re also a perfect length for boots, cute booties, like these from my January Stitch Fix, dressy pumps, or a strappy heel. You can dress them up or down. I styled them here with a cute graphic tee and turquoise jewelry.

I wore them on our recent trip to the Ozarks. I am so thrilled they’re back in style! (Did they ever really go out?)

White Blouse and Bootcuts

For this example I styled my curvy bootcuts with a plain white blouse, pearls and pink heels. I’ve been really enjoying the Netflix series Frankie and Grace – so I popped my collar ala Grace! I’m so fancy!

How to Style Bootcuts with a Bright Kimono

Free People Kimono

I paired my bootcuts with a brightly colored kimono that is absolutely perfect for Spring. Dressing in layers is mandatory in the springtime. I found the snake print wedge sandals (another huge trend this year) at a local boutique. A bit of heel with the bootcuts lengthens the legs, which is another great style trick in the old toolbox! I styled the jacket with a chunky necklace. The combination of bright colors on top and bootcut hemline are a perfect disguise for a pear shape! Winning!

How to Style Bootcuts with a Blue Denim Jacket

Denim Jacket & Bootcut Jeans

I know what you’re thinking. This just can’t work. I mean, denim on denim, amIright? I think it works if your denims aren’t matchy-matchy, like I did here. I also layered a cute floral scarf on top, again to draw the eye up and away from the hips.

This look might be more in your comfort zone, if you’re unsure about the whole denim on denim thing. I styled a white denim jacket with a brightly colored floral tank. The tank is a tad longer than the jacket, disguising the hips, and emphasizing the top of my outfit. It’s a simple outfit, but is comfortable and cute!
