Hi ladies! Today I’m showing you five fresh ways to style a pair of basic black linen pants. Though casual in style, linen pants are more versatile than you think, can be dressed up or down, and styled more ways than you think! The pair I’m styling has a wide-leg silhouette and a drawstring waist, so they’re super comfy. Read on for my fashion formulas, along with tips and tricks for styling linen pants.

How to Care for Linen
Linen is so lightweight, breezy, and easy to wear, it’s one of my favorite fabrics to style during the warmer spring and summer months. Here are a few tips for caring for your linen pieces:
- Wash linen in cold or warm water. I prefer cold, but that’s just me!
- To dry you can try either of these methods:
- Toss the linen piece into the dryer with a few other items for about five minutes to create a little steam and to slightly warm the fabric. Then place the item on a hanger, smoothing out any wrinkles and allow to finish drying.
- Or, just pull the item straight out of the wash and hang it to dry. Then steam any remaining wrinkles out when the garment is completely dry.
- And here’s a helpful hack for hanging your pants to dry: Just hang your pants clipped upside down and seam to seam. The weight of the garment will help to pull out wrinkles! Try it! It really works!
How to Style Linen Pants
This wide-leg style is great for us pear-shaped girls, because they glide over our hips and thighs. Be sure to check the length of the pants, because a longer length pants legs will make your legs look longer too! Outfit One – Perfect for the Office!
I styled my Old Navy Linen Pants with a cute little top I got a while back from Stitch Fix. Because the AC in our office is set to ‘Arctic Blast’ most days, I added a little cardigan in a pop of pink just to brighten things up. You could also easily add a blazer to dress it up even more. A pair of pink shoes and I’m good to go.
Outfit Two – Perfect for a Casual Date Night!
I kept the top and linen pants, changed my shoes, and finished the outfit with my denim jacket. I added a sparkly pair of Kendra Scott earrings to the mix to make the outfit feel just a little bit more glitzy, because why not. A girl can always use a little more sparkle!
Outfit Three – Running Errands
If you’ve followed me for a while, then you know I’m an absolute sucker for graphic tees. My wardrobe is brimming with them, and I find myself continually collecting more. I just might have a problem y’all! So of course I had to style the pants with a cute graphic tee! Graphic tee, linen pants, sandals, and Boom! Done!
Outfit Four – Add a Denim Jacket
If it’s a bit chilly, then throw the denim jacket over the ensemble and you’re good to go. I switched out the sandals for my trusty sneakers for a fun, yet casual vibe. Tip: Keep the proportions a bit tidier by utilizing a more fitted jacket. This will keep the outfit from looking too sloppy. Just because it’s casual doesn’t mean it has to be tacky. Just sayin’.
Outfit Five – Add a Cardigan
The basic formula here is a pair of linen pants, the graphic tee and the cardigan I styled previously. Cute jewelry and shoes and you’re ready for a leisurely lunch date and shopping with the girls.
