How to Style a Dress with Sneakers

If you had told me five or six years ago that we would be styling dresses and sneakers TOGETHER, I would have smacked you on the top of your head and said that was just crazy talk! But here we are, hanging out in casual style, and yes…wearing dresses and sneakers together! I’m not sure how we got here, but even though it took me a bit to get on board, I’m all about it. It’s a fun casual vibe that anyone can master! I’m going to show you a couple of dresses, and how just easy this look is to pull off. Let’s get out of that comfort zone y’all!

TIE DYE DRESS WITH SNEAKERS

Tie Dye Dress styled with converse sneakers

Tie dye is absolutely everywhere this spring, and is a fun trend I can definitely get behind. Couple the groovy print with a soft cotton knit dress and you have achieved perfection! And did I mention that it has pockets?!? I mean, who doesn’t love pockets! This dress is from Chico’s and I’m in love with it. You can just throw this little dress on with sneakers or sandals, pop on a cute pair of earrings and you’re all set and good to go. It’s a perfect option for running to pick up your grocery store pick-up order or for a quick walk around your neighborhood. It could easily be styled with the white denim jacket shown below.

I added a pair of fun tassel earrings and a couple of chunky bracelets just for the fun of it.

NAVY & WHITE STRIPED DRESS WITH SNEAKERS

Navy & Blue Sneaker Dress from Chico's

I realized when I cleaned out my closet recently that I must have a thing for striped knit dresses! I have two tank styles, one short sleeve style and now this adorable dress with a side tie from Chico’s. This dress is a dark navy, and I love the length, as it’s not too short. (My knees give me the heebie-jeebies and would rather keep them hidden!) I think it will be quite versatile, and can even imagine it with bright pink accessories and shoes. Maybe I need a bright pink denim jacket! Hmmmm…food for thought. I’ve styled it here with a fitted denim jacket and those same sneakers shown below. I also love the side tie, and think that it’s a flattering little touch for us pear shaped gals. TIPS FOR STYLING DRESSES AND SNEAKERS

  • Nobody likes stinky shoes! Be sure to wear a pair of no show socks like these Hotsox from Amazon. They won’t show, and your sneaks will last longer, and smell better!
  • Remember that you’re going for a casual vibe. Don’t overdo the accessories. Keep the look simple and effortless. Less is more!
  • Get a spray tan, or use your favorite “tan-in-a-can” so your legs will look bronzed and beautiful. I’ve been using these Tan Towels until the spray tan salons re-open.
  • Don’t overthink it! Just go for it!

I hope you enjoyed this quick little post, and that it will inspire you to step out of your comfort zone and try something new, like styling dresses and sneakers together. Have you tried this trend? 1. Hi Andy!
LOVE these dresses on you! The blue tie dye is a great print, love the blue and the pockets! I also love the cinched waist in your striped dress and with the converse, so cute! I always look for details with stripes.
