For the Love of the Maxi Dress! ❤️
If you follow me on Instagram then you know how much I love the ever faithful and always beautiful maxi dress. I do a little thing I call #maxidressmonday where I style a different maxi from my closet each Monday. I mean, what’s not to love? They’re long, yet they’re breezy. If you have a sketchy leg shaving day, don’t worry about it! Maxi has ya covered! They’re easily accessorized with jackets or cardigans, and often beautiful on their own. Read on for a few of my favorite ways to style the ever faithful staple – the maxi dress.

I love the kimono sleeve style of maxi, and it’s so flattering. Look for a dress with this style sleeve if you want your arms covered. Still breezy and cool, but a bit more modest. The bright design of the pink dress needs little jewelry. And the zebra print speaks for itself. Another nice trick when it’s hot outside, go easy on the heavy, clunky jewelry. You’ll feel cooler, even if it’s all in your head.

I like to wear cardigans with my sleeveless maxis. I’m not a big fan of going sleeveless in the office, and the cardigan adds an extra cozy layer in the frigid air conditioned temps. In fact, cardigans and maxis go together like peanut butter and jelly! Mix up the colors and combinations of your sweater and dresses and you’ll have double the outfits. Brighten up a black and white, or navy and white maxi with a cardigan in a colorful hue, like this hot pink cardigan from Target. All three maxi dresses were from Stitch Fix. As long as my stylist keeps sending them, I’ll probably keep wearing them!

Denim jackets are another great way to change up your maxi dress. My denim jacket is, of course, from Stitch Fix, and it has covered many a maxi! The red stripe dress is a Zulily find from last year, the other two are from Stitch Fix.Finally, the dressy maxi. I received this one last year from Stitch Fix and I am in love with it. The handkerchief style hem elevates the dress. I received tons of complements on it when I wore it out to dinner with friends. I went easy on the jewelry, just adding some fun earrings. Cool, breezy, comfy and pretty! This one just sings summer, don’t you think?
I’m in love with the maxi dresses shown below. From florals to stripes and patterns galore, there’s a style here sure to make any fashionista happy!
I love the Maxi dress, especially for Summer but I am 4ft 11in and I look 2ft tall when I wear long dresses…any suggestions??
Hi! Here’s a few ideas for you. Try a high/low hem maxi that will show some leg. Pair with a nude sandal, or one that matches your skin tone to elongate your legs. If you choose a print, make sure it’s a smaller print that won’t overpower your small frame. Try empire or high waist styles. Another idea, try a maxi skirt in a solid color and pair with a cute printed top that will draw the eye up. The key is to create length with the silhouette of your dress or skirt. Good luck! Hope these tips help! And thanks for stopping by. ❤️
