Howdy y’all! New feature on the blog! I’ll be (hopefully) sharing a weekly recap of my outfits. The hubs takes a quick snap of me each morning before I leave for work, and I share it on my Instagram feed. I’d love for you to follow me if you have Instagram! I hope this might inspire you to try a few new styles! Let me know if you do! Here’s a simple roundup of what I wore this week and where to buy: Continue reading “What I Wore This Week July 2018”
I’m sure by now you’ve noticed that all the bloggers in the world are sharing about the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. Well y’all. I work. And I’m on a budget. My hot water heater busted, making a mess and costing an arm and a leg. AND I just bought tickets to go see my son and his family in Denver. I’m kind of bleeding money over here. So let’s just say that I will be extremely careful during this year’s sale. I’m going to feature a few pieces that are classic work wear, and are ALL under $100! Hurry if you want to shop the sale though. Prices go up August 6, and everything sells out fast.
36 Years ago, after exchanging vows and rings in front of God and witnesses, I changed out of my wedding gown into my purple knit suit from Montgomery Ward’s, and the hubs and I excitedly drove into our future in our ‘78 Mercury Cougar. Mama made my wedding dress, modeled after Princess Di’s, and I felt like a poor girl’s princess. But I was oh so happy! Later, we washed the shaving cream and vaseline off the Cougar, being careful to remove the lovely condoms from the antenna. We had no idea what we were getting ourselves into. We only knew that we were happy and in love and free to have legal and blessed “marital relations” (I was, after all, a good girl). And here we are 36 years later…how in the world did we manage to actually make it work? Continue reading “Our Secrets for a Happy Marriage”
My daughter and the grands came over to celebrate the Fourth of July holiday, so she and I decided it would be the perfect chance for us to do another fun Mother/Daughter Stitch Fix reveal! So I quickly sent a note to my stylist, letting her know what we wanted to do. Happily, our Fix arrived just in time! So in between swimming and eating and napping and chasing toddlers and a few hissy fits (not me, I promise) we squeezed in a little photoshoot of our Stitch Fix Reveal. We had an absolute blast trying on everything, and her daughter even got in on the action, as you’ll see below. Continue reading “July Mother/Daughter Stitch Fix Reveal”
