These shorts from Old Navy

Old navy Floral Shirt | Old Navy shorts

Full disclaimer here: In the past, I’ve been very timid about wearing shorts. I’m pretty modest, and have lots of body insecurity issues, but as I’ve grown older, I’ve found my “give a heck” meter is broken. It’s hot, and I just don’t care. I’m pretty sure that most folks are so worried about how their own bodies look that they’re paying scant attention to the old blond lady wearing shorts. So. There. I’m now wearing shorts! These cute slouchy shorts are so comfortable, I think they’ll be my Saturday uniform from now on. They can be dressed up or down, styled with a graphic tee, or with a floral tee like I did here. I sized up to give myself  a little extra length, as the four inch inseam is a wee bit out of my comfort zone. Better hurry and grab a pair though, they’re going fast!

This nail polish from OPI

Cajun Shrimp OPI Polish

I mean…who doesn’t love Cajun Shrimp from OPI? I’ve used this perky nail color for years. Because of the whole Covid situation, I’m just doing my nails at home now, and have been using these 2-step gel polishes. My fingernails and toenails look super bright, happy and shiny! And the polish lasts for days and days. It’s been a week since I painted my nails and took this pic, and my nails still look great! So much love for this summer favorite!

This shimmery lip balm from Burt’s Bees

Burt's Bees lip shimmer in peony

This luminous lip balm is 100% natural and infused with peppermint, Vitamin E, beeswax and sunflower oils to keep your lips soft and nourished. The 14 color choices are so pretty, and perfect for summer – not too heavy! Peony is my fav color. Another plus – they’re made in the USA. The goldilocks of lip balms, they’re just right!

This gold double strand necklace from Kendra Scott

Double Strand Necklace from Kendra Scott

I recently gave this to myself as a birthday present, and it’s been on repeat ever since. I love the double strand style, and the white drusy stone goes with absolutely everything! It can be layered with both shorter and longer necklaces if you want to pop it up a notch. I’ve styled it with my Kendra Scott Rue pendant necklace here. I’m a huge fan of versatility! The lighter weight of the necklace is perfect for the summertime heat – don’t know about you, but I can’t stand anything big and heavy on my neck when it’s hot outside.

A fun pair of converse sneakers

Shoreline sneakers from Converse have been on repeat for me this spring and summer. I now have a pair of white, a pair of pink and white striped ones, and this adorable leopard print pair. They slip on with ease, have extra foot padding, which I desperately need, and are just so much fun to wear! I get complements every single time I wear this leopard print pair. Trust me, you need them in your life! Read more about styling dresses and sneakers HERE.

I’m styling the Converse Shoreline Sneakers with a striped dress in this pic. You can shop this entire look and more in my Shop My Looks page.

  1. I rarely ever wear shorts either. I’m trying to wear more flowy dresses but right now, we don’t have any heat so I don’t have to choose!

    1. We have heated up already here! Other than the AC that’s always blasting. 😎 Thanks for stopping by!
