Five Pieces to Master the Winter to Spring Wardrobe Transition | March Stitch Fix Reveal

Happy almost Spring! I don’t know about you, but this time of year is somewhat of a struggle for me when it comes to what to wear each day. Some days are cold, some are warm, most are rainy and cool. But the flowers are beginning to bloom, the trees are greening up and our hearts and minds turn happily toward this change in seasons. Today I’m going to show you a few of the pieces my Stitch Fix stylist sent me to transition into the spring season, along with some helpful tips to help you have fun with your wardrobe as the weather changes and we spring forward!

As you know, I enjoy receiving my Stitch Fix boxes each month, and sharing them with you. I asked my stylist for a few things to help with my spring transition wardrobe, and that I could work in with things I already own. I’m excited to show you what she sent, and also how pieces like these can help you sail into spring in style!

Five Pieces to Transition Your Wardrobe to Spring

WHITE TOP

Everybody needs this basic in their wardrobe, and white tops are everywhere this spring. Think of the white top, tee, or blouse as a foundation for so many of your springtime looks. They can be styled with a lightweight jacket, a long cardigan sweater, or can stand alone for a classic look. Look for special design touches like embroidery or crochet.

FLORAL or PATTERNED TOP

Of course florals are a springtime staple, but if your color palette tends to run more to darker colors, try a top with springy details like crochet trim or a floral pattern in pastels or brights. It’s an instant wardrobe refresher! Even a brighter paisley pattern like this one can merge seamlessly into your spring wardrobe!

I styled this month’s fix with the French Mauve tunic blazer Katherine sent me last year. (proof that I get tons of wear from my fixes!) It’s a fun option to the traditional denim jacket (like the yellow one I styled in my Stylish Monday post), and can be dressed up for work or dressed down with denim like I did here. I love soft pastels for spring, don’t you?

LIGHTER WEIGHT/WASH JEANS

Now is the time to pack away those heavier weight denim jeans, and swap them out for lighter weight jeans in a light wash. Distressed denim is having a moment right now, and you can go as heavily distressed as you want (or not). I tend to go somewhere in between when it comes to distressing, but I absolutely LOVE fun details like the frayed hem featured in this pair. I also love to wear ankle jeans that can be cuffed up a bit to show off my sandals or sneakers.

CUTE SNEAKERS

Spring is the perfect time to bust out a new pair of fun sneakers. I showed you this pink Converse pair I found for my trip to Maui, which have been on constant repeat ever since. A neutral pair of sneakers like these will go with everything in your wardrobe. Perforated details are the perfect option for a spring sneaker. Slip ons are also an absolute must for the airport, they’re super easy to slip on and off in airports (just in case you get to take any fun spring break trips!)

Here are a few similar styles. I did the shopping for you!

Don’t forget the accessories!

  • Look for spring-like accessories, and avoid those richer jewel toned pieces you wore during the winter. Look for pearls, rose gold and lighter weight tassel earrings in spring color palette.
  • Find a rain jacket in a style you’ll actually enjoy wearing!
  • Pick a pretty scarf to add a beautiful soft pop of personality to your outfit.
  • Remember! The prettiest accessory is your SMILE! Lighten and brighten up your lip color and sail on into spring in style.
