SUEDE BOOTIES

I have suede booties in several colors, and enjoy wearing them all winter long. You do have to be careful if it’s raining though. Be sure to either protect them with a weather proof treatment, or save them for a sunny day. A neutral color bootie, like the one shown below from my January Stitch Fix will transition nicely on into spring. I’m seeing them in many spring fashion previews.

I wear my black suede booties to work with tights and dresses or skirts, but most often with trousers. They provide a bit more coverage and cozy warmth on those chilly mornings.

Here are a few buying options for you:

TALL SUEDE BOOTS

I found my brown suede tall boots last year on clearance. I just love them. I have wide calves, and have so much trouble finding wide calf boots, so when I happened upon them (on sale even!) I just knew I’d have to snatch them up! I’ve really enjoyed them. They keep my feet and legs warm and cozy, and are so comfortable. You can find probably find a pair on sale now! Trust me, grab them! You’ll be glad you did!

SUEDE PUMPS

I’m officially in love with the block heel pump trend, and really hope it sticks around for awhile. I can’t/don’t/won’t wear high heels, so a 2 ½ inch or so block heel gives me a comfortable and dressy lift to whatever outfit I happen to be wearing.I’ve been styling my red pair with everything from suits to jeans. I love them! Choose a nice soft suede for extra warmth. Check out these cute options here:

CLASSIC TALL BOOTS

How to style riding boots

Is there anything more classic than the tall boot and skinny jean or legging combo? Tunics, sweaters, vests and jackets – they just work with all of it! My riding style boot is several years old, so they’re broken in and comfortable. I also sport a black pair all the time. I searched tons of stores, again because of the wide calf issue, but am really happy with the boots I finally found. Here are few for you to choose from, including a couple of wide calf styles!:

RAIN BOOTS

Ugg Rain Boots

I researched, and tried on, and compared rain boots for years, and just couldn’t pull the trigger. I tried on UGG rain boots, and was happy with how they felt (so warm), and how they fit me (perfectly). I wasn’t sure about the sizing, since they only come in full sizes. I sized up, and added the snuggly warm liner and they fit like a dream. The famous UGG shearling footbed is so cozy and warm!

My friend Jennifer has a pair of these in green, and I’ve always loved them. So I was thrilled when I found them on sale and in this vibrant shade of blue! Score! I went ahead and purchased a pair of the cozy boot socks and was just tickled at how cute they looked. I even danced in a couple of rain puddles just for the fun of it!

  1. Loved it! I work as a funeral director, so my footwear by day is pretty boring. I like the options you have here because they’re fun and functional! Thank you!
