February Stitch Fix Reveal

February, and the struggle is real y’all. It’s cold, wet, rainy and just generally blahhhh…Heck, it even rained on Valentine’s Day! I do not handle this time of the year very well at all. Not well at all!! It’s always so hard to know what to wear to work too. Is it going to rain? Is it going to be freezing? Is it going to be 80? Who knows??? Getting dressed every morning for work is just a gamble! And who even wants to get out and go shopping in this weather? Not this girl! Stitch Fix to the rescue! I was needing to liven up my workwear, and I felt like it needed a pick-me-up. So I asked my stylist for a winter workwear fix, and Katherine hooked me up!

As I’ve shared before, Stitch Fix is a fabulous styling service that delivers five gorgeous pieces of clothing to your house! I choose to receive a fix once a month, but you can do it less often if you choose. You complete a style profile when you sign up. (hint: it’s very helpful if you share your Pinterest account with your stylist.) Then, you simply pay a styling fee of $20, and wait for the magic to happen when your cute little box of happy shows up at your front door. Try on everything, and mix and match with other things in your closet! You have five days to play with everything, and then you can choose to keep nothing, one or two things, or even everything! There’s even a discount if you keep it all, which makes it really tempting.

Make sure you look at the helpful style cards your stylist sends with the clothes, it gives you some wonderful ideas.I even save mine for future reference. I always read my stylist’s note the minute I open the box. Here’s my note this month. img_5352

My first item to try on was the LEOTA Aneeka Knit Faux Wrap Dress. This dress is soft, fits perfectly, and is the perfect length on me. Black and white, with a touch of blue, it’s very work appropriate. I love it! It has a cute little ruffle detail where it wraps across.

I then added the TART Kokkola Textured Knit Blazer over the dress. I can’t sing the praises of this jacket loud enough! The cable detail just elevates it above the simple black blazer. I’ve already worn it to work! One of my friends jokingly called it a “swacket”, since it’s a combo jacket/sweater, and I think that description fits! I love it! You need to pin this one y’all!

The SKIES ARE BLUE Kaulin Button Down Blouse ended up being my favorite piece in this fix. I waffled on it. Did I really need another floral blouse? Yes. Yes I did…I asked for something floral to go with a blue and white striped blazer I got last year on sale at GAP. When I tried on the two pieces together, they matched, but it made me realize how poorly the GAP blazer fit me. My husband even said it made me look wider than I really am, and recommended I consign the blazer. So off to Thred Up it goes! I still love the idea of mixing the florals and stripes. I’ll start the hunt for something soon! Here’s the blouse both ways. What do you think? Honest opinions accepted.

The LEO & NICOLE Andora Mesh Detail Open Cardigan is right up my comfort zone. If you follow me on facebook or instagram, you’ve seen me wearing longer length cardigans all the time. Like ALL the time. They’re the perfect style and length for my pear shape, and I’m so comfortable in a longer cardi. I styled the cardigan with a SKIES ARE BLUE pink top from a previous fix, white jeans and pink espadrilles. The sweater has such pretty mesh detail. It will be the perfect sweater for Spring.

When I received notification that this MADISON Lily Kendalle Pullover sweater was in my fix, I was SO excited! I just knew I was going to love it! But pictures and real life do not equal perfection, and this adorable sweater just did not work for me, no matter how hard I tried. It was just too big in my arms and neck, and as cute as it is, I felt frumpy in it. It was tragic. Not really. It was just a bummer. Sigh… It will be perfect for somebody. Just not this body! Oh well…

More exciting Stitch Fix news! They just  launched a new service – called Extras – that enables you to add intimates to your Fixes!! Now you can stock up on undies, bras, bralettes, shapewear, socks and camis right from Stitch Fix. You just choose the Extras you love when you schedule your fix. They’ll send them to you, along with your 5 items, check out as usual, keep what you want, and send back the rest! I’m going to add some Extras to my next fix, and report back. But believe me, there will be NO modeling of the extras! Except for socks, maybe socks. 🙂

    1. You can actually adjust your pricing preferences so that they’ll send you lower priced items. And remember, you don’t have to keep everything! (though
I’m usually tempted to) Thanks for dropping by!

  1. I haven’t tried stitch fix yet, but I’ve been meaning to. I just saw in one of your other comments that you can adjust the pricing; I didn’t realize that. One more incentive to go check them out! Thanks for sharing 🙂
