Artsy Fartsy and a Freebie

Creativity runs in my family. Mom was so artistic. She was famous in her hometown for her pressed flower art and was absolutely consumed with planting flowers, picking the blooms and pressing them for future use. I used to joke that no flower was safe around her! Before that she wrote poetry, wrote her memoirs, journaled daily, and even played the piano by ear. My brother inherited her writing and creative talents. I inherited a teeny-tiny bit of that creative flair, which ended up being more artsy craftsy than artsy fartsy! And my son and daughter are both artistically talented in their own ways.Inline image 1

I was really into Scrapbooking back in the day when I was a stay at home mom. I have bookshelves full of scrapbooks dedicated to my family. It does my heart good to see my kids get those out whenever they come home. I love to watch them laugh and enjoy the sweet memories we made as a family. I have absolutely no idea how much time I spent cutting, gluing and journaling those memories. I’m so glad I did!
I still scrapbook, but in a simpler fashion. I’ve discovered the ProjectLife app. It’s available for both iphone and android. The majority of the photos I take are on my phone, and this is the easiest way to document life and get those memories onto a scrapbook page. It’s quick and easy. You can even order prints directly from the app that you can just place in your albums. Here’s an example of a layout I created using the ProjectLife app on my phone:

My daughter has inherited Mama’s talents as well. Her etsy shop, SweetFrog Printshop features beautiful hand drawn word art, Bible Journaling printables as well as printables for teachers. She also creates beautiful custom pieces upon request. Check out and “like” her facebook page for some beautiful examples of her work, and tons of ideas about how you can use her printables.
As a thank you for taking the time to read my blog, I’d like to offer you this freebie from the Sweetfrog PrintShop. This super cute sampler will print as a full size 8 1/2 x 11 on your inkjet printer and is a JPEG download. You can use cardstock and scrapbook paper, as well as Avery sticker paper too! Andy
